LX3 problems!!

Just returned from the big pond and had some problems with my LX 3. It almost appeared like there was some interfearance, but the whole display including the bottom was blinking, and there were marks all through the water column that were blinking at the same time. Im hoping that a new ducer will solve this. It got to the point that i couldn't even pick up my jig at all unless i turned the gain way up, which i have never had to do before. Any suggestions? I have a new battery and it is fully charged, so I know it is not that.

Did you hit your "IR" button to try and clear the interference? Were you fishing near a number of other flashers, both Vex & Marcum? How far under the ice was your transducer hanging? If you are getting interference and you can't get rid of with "IR", make sure your transducer is hanging in your hole and not under the ice. If we are absolutely positive that it wasn't an interference problem, it may be your transducer.

Having to turn your gain way up above 4 to detect your jig is the telltale sign of a bad transducer. I'm assuming the extra "noise" you are seeing on the screen is a result of cranking the gain up.

Yes i had a similar problem, sent it in on a monday got it back on a thursday. Cost 10.15 for ups. Very pleased with the service,although i haven't tried it yet.

Did this happen in the evening? If so it a good chance your seeing plankton.
