Garmin Fishing HotSpots

runtille

Question

My buddy and I have the GPSMap 76S loaded with Garmin's Fishing HotSpots. We have noticed that on many lakes such as Mille Lacs, the unit and the printed map can be up to 1/4 to a 1/2 mile off. Has anyone else experienced this? Now Garmin has a Lakemaster Mapsource cd for the Garmin GPS mapping devices. Has anyone loaded this and tested it out? I've heard great things about Lakemaster and have used their printed maps. Any info would be appreciated.

Well...

I have no experience at all with the software you are talking about. However, I don't like the HotSpots paper maps at all. They are very vague and not very accurate when compared to the Lakemaster surveyed lakes.

I have the Lowrance H20c with the Lakemaster MN chip (which includes Mille Lacs) and it is very, very accurate.

If you really want to take advantage of new technology, check out the Lakemaster software and download Mille Lacs back to your Garmin GPS. I have a feeling you will be very happy. grin.gif
