Shallow dawg question

They are not neutrally bouyant, they are still plenty heavy.

I would say it sinks about 1/2 as fast as the regular dawg.

You can work it as deep as you want, I have jigged shallow dawgs in 30 feet of water before...

There is an unweighted Shallow Dawg. Go to the Thorne Bros site and it'll carry a link to Musky Innovations.

Here is the product description...

Musky Innovations Unweighted Shallow Dawg Swimbait

The Shallow Bull Dawg goes where no Bull Dawg has gone before. Use this bait as a shallow jerk bait over shallow rocks, the tops of weeds, or any shallow cover. It is available in Black, Black/Orange, Black/Glow, Cisco, Perch, Sherbert, and Walleye. It comes in the Magnum or Regular sizes. This new Shallow Bull Dawg allows you to use it in nearly all fishing situations. The Shallow Bull Dawg is indicated by a hole in the top fin.

I only use the Mag dawgs, they have "regular" (weighted) and "shallow" (unweighted) versions.

In reality, they should scrap the "regular" and "shallow" names, and just rename them HEAVY and REALLY, REALLY, HEAVY...

I use the "Shallow Mag Dawgs" most of the time, I can cast them all day without my arms falling off, and I can work them really shallow and really deep. Harder to do that with the weighted ones, unless your forearms look like Popeye's...
