Tice Is Out

The Wilf family announced less than an hour after the win over the Bears second stringers that Mike Tice will not be back as coach of the Vikings. Apparently they didn't want to wait until tomorrow's meeting with Tice to tell him he was out. Now the search for a new head coach begins--the fate of Tice's staff is not clear, according to ESPN.

I called for Tice to be fired two years ago, and I do think this was the best thing to do, assuming the Wilfs bring in some sharp football people to run things. Now that Tice is gone, I will say I felt he did his best, and was just over-matched in the job of NFL head coach.

Ah...This is the best Christmas present anyone in MN could've received, aside from fishing gear. The Viking's "Axis of Suckiness" is slowly crumbling. First McCombs leaves, now Tice is fired. All that is left, is for Culpepper to get released or traded, and we'll be a contending team again.

If you thinking firing Tice and his staff is going to make the Vikes 14-2 next year you better check your meds..That is just one problem, now let's see what happens with running backs, QB's O line replacement, coaches, salary cap, the draft and free agents. Not to mention a loss of fans from this year and the media mess....Glad I don't work in the front office, but then again a few notices will be going out there to...
