Replacement Tent For Fish Trap

I have a Fish Trap 2 man that I bought back in 1998, It has been used alot and the mice found their way into it over the summer. I was wondering if anyone has purchased a replacement tent from Clam. I guess my question is the quality better. I found the canvas to be very thin and not too durable. I just purchased the trap pro and found it to be alot better quality tent than my two man. I dont want to spend the $129 if I'm going to get the same thin,cheap canvas.

I have a Voyager that is about 5 years old and have a new tent in the box ready to use when needed. I took it out and looked at it and it seems to be somewhat heavier and a little tougher. If you decide to purchase anew one, I would add some Reflectex to the back wall and top and you heating will improve a good amount. You can buy the reflectex at the big lumber yard supplier and install in about 1 hour.My Voyager was bought 4-5 years ago so it probably has the same material that your tent does.Hope this helps.

I think that they have switched to a better fabric since your trap was made in '98. I also have a trap pro that is made from some thin canvas and also a voyager bought two seasons ago that is made of a much nicer fabric. Definitly tougher material. You could always ask them about the fabric of the new ones, or buy a replacement from one of the canvas people in the metro.

I just talked to Clam recently and they said that the Fishtrap Guide tent is what I should order if I wanted to replace the tent on my Fishtrap II (which is probably what you have - bench seats?). So you could just go to your favorite sporting goods store and check out the Guide to get an idea of what you would be getting if you ordered a new tent.
