Minnow scent on lures?

I've posted this thought on another site only to get as much input as I can on this idea. We use minnows and minnow heads on our lures to give them scent, right? Why not take those headless bodes and leftover minnows put them in a blender liquify them and use them as a dip for our lures.I'm with the thought this would work great for those who prefer not to tip their lures as not to impair the lures action, but still give it scent. You could freeze it until your ready to use it to keep it fresh and get a little more use from your leftover minnows.I would like to hear if anyone has tried this, or what your idea's are on this line of thinking?I have always when using a minnowhead on my lures, squeezed and rubbed the guts of the leftover minnow on my lure for added scent.

RB- I have not tried this myself, I would think your problem would be that the scent would fall off quite quickly. And even if you did freeze it, it would not be "fresh". I personally think I get more bites on a fresh minnow head than one I have had on for 15 mins.

Give it a shot however, whats it going to hurt? You end up with a stinky food processor and some gross stuff in your freezer cool.gif

I've dipped spoons in ground up bait fish many yrs. ago. I don't know if it helped or not. This was while trolling on Lk. Superior. I also put some on my jigs while bobbing for lake trout in deep water in the winter. There again I don't know if it helped or not. I don't think it hurts.
