I was hoping someone would have an idea on how to remove some black marker from the tailgate of my truck. It seems that last night while my wife and I were at a movie someone felt the need to draw on my tailgate with black marker. It wont just wash off . My truck is a red 04 silverado.

Isopropyl alcohol will take off most markers.

Yup, isopropyl will work. As will methanol, ethanol, acetone (nail polish remover). I'd try the nail polish remover on a door jamb or something, first, though. I'm not sure if it will hurt your paint.

If those ideas don't work fall back on the old reliable stand-by, some rubbing compound followed by polishing compound and then some wax. The biggest problem will be that the tailgate will look so good you'll want to do the whole truck.
