LakeMaster Pro Maps Chip

RussDaBuss

Question

Hopefully I am not beating a dead horse here!! Ok, I finally got me the chip grin.gif for my IFinder Pro. Put it in the unit and works fine (more like awesome). Anyway, my main ? is when I put it in my computer it just came up a file that my computer could not open. I guess obviously I need some sort of software to read this on my PC. So, is there such a thing and if so, do any of you have it? It is great using my Pro to cruise around and look at lakes but would be better in color and more veiwing area on my PC. Also if this software is out there can you use it to actually map and plan on your PC and then pop it in to the IFinder?? Any help appreciated. OH YA, Merry Christmas ALL!! laugh.gif

I asked the same question to the guys at the Lakemaster's booth at the Ice Show a few weeks back. Here was the answer they gave me: You have to purchase the software and the lakes data separately for your computer. I can't quite remember what the price was. I have used other software with lakes map and it's fun to look at a bigger screen than your gps gives you and look at "chunks" of different lakes.

Hope this answers your question. BTW, rumor has it if you try to put your map chips in a card reader, it can damage your chip, but I think that was supposed to be for navionics chips.

Merry x-mas guys and gals, I have both the lakemaster chip for my I-finder pro, which also works excellent in my color lowrance locator, and the lakemaster software for my PC. I can then make lake maps of the areas, I want to fish, plus you can get better close-up looks at areas. Green lake near spicer for example. You can't print out from the chip in a PC. Thats why the software that way. I asked the same thing over a year ago at the walleye/bass expo. I have used the PC software since they first came out it in 1998. I have recorded areas on my locator than put that info onto my PC and print out a map. I use lowance software to read my sonar recording from the msd Chip. I how plotted out the transition areas on buffalo lake. It may seem spendy but its well worth the money once you start using it.

OK, tried the emulator, and it will not come up on my computer after I install it, some error message. Anyway. ANYONE. All I want to be able to do is put my MMC chip in my reader and connect it to my compter and JUST view it on the PC. Is this possible? Thanks for anyhelp. I have an email out to Lowrance and no answer yet. Happy New Year ALL!!
