Real mount vs. Replica????

Just wondering if there is a big difference in cost for having a replica vs the actual fish?

I have found replicas are about 25% higher. Really depends who does the work (both replica and real thing vary).

Replicas are said to last forever, but I do not think they look quite as realistic. They are improving, however.

I have a northern that my dad mounted for me 26 years ago. Still looks great.

Being pro catch and release I would say go replica. I have all of the pike and musky mounts done in graphite replica and I am pretty happy with them. They do seem to cost a little more but they seem to hold up better and I think they hold the color better over the years. I truly believe it's all in the artist with the reproductions.
