Question for Aqua Vu pro staff

JohnMickish

Question

I have had a ZT for a couple of years now and it's a good camera, but my beef (and everyone else I talk to with the same style monitor) is who is the rocket scientist that came up with the recessed gimbal knobs?? Ever tried to adjust the monitor angle with gloves on? Forget it. Do they or will they make a gimbal extension or do I have to make one myself?

As far as I know, they do not make what you are looking for. Most of my understaer viewing is done in my house, so I guess I have never tried to do it with my gloves on. I guess I can see where it would be difficult. I look at it this way however, they cant get caught on anything when they are recessed like they are.

mnfish,

Is it really that tough? You only need to work with the gimbals for a MAX of 30 seconds. You have your hands out of your gloves ten times as much as that when tying nots....putting on a minnow......adding a waxie. If you don't like the recessed knobs, take a look at the scout or XL/SRT they have solved this problem.

I would look at the other models but I already have a perfectly fine camera. It's not that it's that big of a problem to take my gloves off, it's just that that one piece of poor engineering makes the hair on my butt stand up. Sure, you don't want to extend them out so far that they catch on everything but my god man, couldn't they have noticed something was wrong there? Had they made them flush or slightly protruding and bigger they would be perfect.

It's the little details like that that drive me nuts crazy.gif It's a perfectly fine camera setup that suits me fine. Besides the gimbal knobs and the sun shade (that's another story) the whole thing is 98% perfect. Maybe it's just me and my friends that think they missed the boat on this one??

I understand what you mean. But now the knobs used are just round knobs rather than the T-Handled ones. That may help......Just shoot the customer service gals an email saying JP told you to get the round knobs they'll just stick them in the mail for you.
