Rod holder mods in a portable?

jltimm

Question

What does everyone use as a rod holder in your portable? I have a Otter Magnum Lodge, and want to mount some rod holders in it that fold or swing out of the way, (or that are just out of the way for fold up).I'am now using the holder that sits on the floor of the house of choice, but want some better options.

I purchased 2 rod rocker 2 rod holders from Todays Tackle at the ice show and you can mount them on the front edge of your portable.Iam very happy with these as they are the nicest that I personally have used. You can look at them on Todays Tackle web page and I also think on F.M.These wont fold or swing out of the way,you just pull them out when your done and store them in your tub or where ever.www.todaystackle.com

Thanks for the suggestions so far guys!I had some time to kill today so I made a rod holder out of pvc pipe, and put one bolt through it so it will spin out of the way when the house is folded up.It seems like it will work perfect, but I will give it the real world test soon!

The Rod Rocker 2's are the cat's meow for rod holders in the center of your shack.

In my Otter Lodge, I have the Otter rod holders mounted to the brackets on each side but wasn't quite sure what to do with the rods in the middle. The Rod Rocker 2's answered that question. Just drill 4 holes in the edge of your tub and slip the Rod Rockers in. You now have 2 additional rod holders that are removable and out of the way when you want them to be.

BTW, careful with the Otter rod holders and collapsing the poles. Been there, done that! wink.gif
