Another led lighting question

I just put two of the LB1 bars from superbrightled in my voyager house and they are pretty nice. Here is the question for you electrical types. These bars have 12 lights each and I am running them off a vex type battery. I bought a set of the Gander rope lights for a buddy and he has had them running in his house on the same type of battery in his garage (cold) for over 60 hours. My two light bars running in my basement (warm) only ran for about 28 hours and the battery was dead. Now 28 hours is plenty in my book, if I am going to spend more time in the fish house than that...well I wont spend that much time in there. What I am wondering is arent all led's created equal? how come he is getting so much more run time out of his string that has probably twice as many bulbs on it? Incidentally the two LB1 units are plenty of light for me in the trap voyager. I hope somebody can "shed some light" on this question as it is puzzling me. To further agravate me I have about $50 in my lighting system and his cost $8, of course that is how it always works for me frown.gif

All LED's are not created equal. They all have different light intensities (I think it is called Luminous Intensity, the higher the rating the brighter the bulb), and current draw.

I have 4 LB1's in the ceiling of my Otter Resort (more than enough light), and I have one of the Gander rope lights running through the storage compartment I built into the Sled.

The LED's in the Gander rope light are tiny, compared to those in the LB1 light, and they certainly don't put out as much light.

I would guess the luminous intensity of the Gander rope lights is smaller, as is the current draw, so they should last longer.

I have had all 4 of my LB1's running and the Rope Light running overnight (12-14 hours) and the battery was not dead yet, I figure that is plenty for me....

Wont be losing any sleep over it but by nature I am curious about these type of things. To further complicate things,my batter was fully charged and his hadnt been charged since last ice season. Just one of those things that make you say hmmmm. Hey JWB, with 4 of those units in that house you must have to almost wear sunglasses cool.gif Havent had a chance to get out and fish in my house since I got the lights put in hope to this wknd.
