Central Iowa Ice???

Hey there,

Am going to be down to the Des Moines area next weekend, please tell me that it is a good idea to bring down the ice fishing gear!!!! Any chance of 2.5" or better?

Most farm ponds are running 2 1/2-3" and by the weekend should be closer to 5 as the temps are crazy low right now (woo hoo!!!). Lakes are still sitting around 2" or less due to the snow so who knows what they will be by the weekend. Dumb snow....

My mom lives in Webster City and she said that people were fishing on Briggs Woods today. They may be crazy, but evidently the season has started.
