Trolling motor batteries

Scoot

Question

I'm going to replace the batteries for my trolling motor this spring. I had high end gel cell batteries in before, but I'd like to go with something different before. I'd like to put in a good, solid, reliable battery that is reasonably priced. I'll be putting in a 29 or 31 series battery and obviously it'll be a deep cycle marine battery.
What specific battery should I get and how much should I expect to spend for each of them (I need two for the 24 volt trolling motor I have.)
Thanks!

Hiya,
Trailblazin' is right on. Get Trojans. Heavy as all get out, which is what you want. I run 31 series, and replace them after two years, just because. A friend's running my old set from my last replacement, and the got through their 4th year last year just fine.

Should be able to find them for around $80-90/ea. Watch Batteries Plus for their spring Marine battery sale.

watch in the want ads in the Fargo forum there is a guy selling trojan batteries for 40.00, he's been selling them for a couple years now they are the 31 series, I can check with someone tommorrow and get his name and number if the ad is not in this week, I've bought two sets of them now and my neighbor and my brother have bought them and we've had good luck with them, he works at a auto parts place up in Fargo but can't remember which one, I think it is car-quest?
