Dakota Iceman
I have a brand new LX-3, now i see there is a upgrade to the true color system. In your guys honest opinion is it worth the 49.00? Am I really missing out, is there a huge diffrence?>
CNY Tim
In my honest opinion... Is it a mandatory had to have option, no. But it's nice to have that option if you so desire to upgrade to the new color scheme. There's quite a few of us that were fine with the yellow, orange, red of the original LX-3. What you will be amazed with as a new owner are the details in the display. This to me means more than the colors...
Dave
Throughout the season, view a new True Color model and judge for yourself. The "old" model is still quite effective ya know
Matt Johnson
In my honest opinion, yes, the upgrade is worth the $49 you pay for it. Without a doubt. However, is the upgrade a necessity? No, but it will make things more distinct and clear when viewing the display. I used the original LX-3 display for 2 seasons without any complaints, and it worked just fine for me. Technology will continue to advance, and old technology can, and still will, help you become a better ice angler. So to basically answer your question, you get a lot for your $49, and in my opinion it is worth the price if you choose to upgrade to True Color, but if you choose to stay with the regular LX-3 display that is fine as well, and it will also get the job done... schweady
The MarCum tech said it's not just a different color. It's 3 separate colors, not 2 colors blending to make a 3rd one, so it's sharper. Also says that it will be noticably brighter in bright sunlight.
