first ice outing of the year!!!

got out fishing on a lake just north west of duluth today, there was about 3.5 in of ice throughout the whole bay we were fishing. after taking a while to find good ice and creeping our way out there we only had about a half of hour of daylight left and went home empty handed. it sure feels good to punch that first hole of the year, but i think it may be about a week until i get back out after the weather we're going to get this weekend. By the way, we took all possible safety precautions, most lakes are no where close to fishable so if you do venture out there be safe and good luck.

Garsh Darn it to H-E double hockey sticks, NOOOOOOO you couldnt wait untill tomorow? thats when Hovermn and myself will be going out, well hopefully we can show the first pictures of the first fish on the ice this year =-)
