Pipestone from Crow?

Is it possible to get there on a sled? I know as the crow flies, the west end of Shistose/Pipestone is only a couple miles from the east end of Crow. Wondering if anyone's ever tried it or any advice.

Yes it is possible...theres a ice road or just stay along the right shoreline, go threw the property to the right of the portage... i have a cabin on clearwater and live in plymouth..send me a e mail if you want more info or to let me know when you're going up....

It can be done, you will probably want to take a chainsaw since you will have to clean out any existing trail that there is. The ice road that the other guy is talking about is on Clearwater and has nothing to do with getting to Pipestone from Crow. You will have to make your own trail, unless a trapper has a trail. Just watch out going through Schistose creek to Pipestone, it won't freeze the best unless really cold.

Bummer - I had my hopes up after that first post! Like to try Pipestone one of these years on the ice. Probably have to make a separate trip.

Muskie Bay in early January. Am fairly familiar with the east end of Kakagi. And the Canadian Topo software in the Garmin is very detailed,

It would definately be easier and quicker just to trailer the machines down and go up for the day or make a seperate trip. If you need to rent a cabin on Pipestone in the winter check out Gateway North Outfitters
