Best way to light a portable

I went to a RV supply store and picked up a 12v light/fan combo. The light is plentiful, the fan helps move the heat around my Voyageur. Just screwed on a spring clamp and it attaches anywhere. Vex battery has kept its powered for many hours. Multiple settings for light/fan increase usefulness.

Cabela's Rechargeable 13W Flourecent Lantern. Works for about 4-5hrs on a full charge. Super Bright and you can hang from the ceiling or set on the ground. It also has a battery monitor so you know when you're getting low. Recharge by plugging into the wall or 12v adapter. Bad thing is you can't but the replacement bulbs if you break them. This is the brightest battery powered lantern on the market!!

I have been looking into LED's but haven't had a whole lot of time to do much research. Last weekend I was helping a friend with some repairs and he had an LED light that looked like a skinny trouble light that Craftsman makes. I tried it outside in the dark and it gave off quite a bit of light. It is rechargable and the batteries last a couple of days on a full charge. They retail for about $40, but he said they go on sale pretty often for $20. Next time they are on sale I think I may give that a try. It would be nice not to have to worry about my lantern globe or hauling around a battery.
