Jeff Dosch
This is one of the best deer hunting openers that I can remember. Plenty of deer each time we did a walk and I cant beleive the size and numbers of the bucks we seen. All four of us in our party had buck tags and by 3 oclock on Sat. we were done. The smallest buck a 4x4 weighed 190 pds and the biggest a 5x5 weighed 215pds. Does were everywhere we went but seemed to all be on the smaller side so we still have our doe tags left. We seen a lot of snow geese on Sat. but the big migration of birds hasnt happened yet. I would say this week more birds should move into the area. How did everybody else do this weekend? STILLNOFISH
Our group had some success as well. My father shot a big 4x4 whitetail and another member of our group shot a decent 5x4 whitetail. A couple of does to top it off and will be back next week. Saw plenty of deer including some nice bucks, however they are very good at evading us when need be. Seems like we are seeing more whitetails than Mullie bucks in 3E2 this year. Anyone else have a story?
