Guest
Has anyone tried these slugs? How are they?
lunker651
I shot 10 rounds at the range the other day. The groups was pretty good and accurate, not as accurate as the one I've been using but they are good enough. I wouldn't mind using them, but I prefer using the ones I've been using the last couple years.
Mr Special
Which round have you been using? For years I've been using Federal 3" or Remi 3".My bud let me try some Brennekee K.O. and that groups very nice. There also alot cheaper. Goes to show price isn't everything. Guest
I was just over at Oakdale Gun Club and tried those slugs.. The groups were pretty nice.. I had one dead on at 50 yards and then a few within 1 inch of the bulls eye so not bad for 3.00 for 5 rounds
Mr Special
Do you know the FPS and drop of the slug? Are ya shooting scope or iron sights?
Guest
its muzzle velocity is 1600fps. No, no scopes, just iron sights or whatever sights came with the gun... I've never shot with a scope.. Its just that if you don't hit him on the 1st shot, then its hard to do follow up shots with a scope.Atleast for me anyways.. And theres been a couple of occasions where I missed the 1st shot and hit the target on the last shot on a sprinting deer.Quote:Do you know the FPS and drop of the slug? Mr Special
You're right those follow up shots stinks/darn near impossible with a scope. On the stand I like to use a scope. But on drive or still hunting I like the iron sights.Good luck this weekend
Guest
Saturday I will be in a stand but come Sunday noon if the deer movement is slow, then we'll drive the rest of the dayThanks! Good luck to you too!Quote: On the stand I like to use a scope.
