Pheasent Hunting in or around Carver County?

Recommended Posts

BASSMAN186,

I have maps for Carver County (the ones that show the WMA's) and also 4 other counties west and south of Carver. I plan on going out thin weekend if you would be interested. I have never hunted pheasant before, so I am sure I will be doing allot of driving around to the different WMA areas. I live in Victoria

The bird numbers in Carver County are just alright. There isn't enough CRP to get the higher bird numbers that have been witnessed in Western Minnesota.

I talked to a friend who got his hands on the DNR August Roadside county Pheasnt information. I'm not talking about the map they put out but the report that goes into making the map and he said Carver County had like 25 birds per route and in Western Minnesota some of the routes had 400-500 birds per route.

Also, it is opening deer hunting this weekend so be sure to watch out for deer hunters and wear plenty of orange.
