if you were to use a ground blind for rifle slug season is there any where you can get a hunters orange blind. why dont they make hunter orange blinds. I know you have to have it on your body but then if you put a ground blind down can you just drape a couple extras around the top or side of the blind. any one have had questions regarding this. ill probably buy a climbing stand since my wife got a 100 dollar cabelas gift card. if you hunt by trees that are good canidates for a climber, you should consider it. I have a Tree-Lounge and it has changed the way i hunt. i can sit for HOURS, don't get cold, don't get tired and it is pretty nice to shoot out of, all the things you get in a ground blind BUT you are up in a tree! i was just in it 2 weeks ago for the early doe season, sat from 2pm to 7pm, 5 hours no problem. i'm 6'4", if you are a little shorter, you will like it even more. just my opinion....

Tree stand is a good idea. But if you're set on using a blind, the Doghouse from Ameristep has an optional orange "cap" you can buy and drape and tie over the roof. Also, how about some criss crosses of orange duck tape on each side? I might use mine for shotgun season on my own land but will still put some orange tape on the sides and on some of the nearby trees if I do decide to use it.

I also thought that it should be required that if one is consealed in a blind that some orange must be visible from all sides... I mean what's the point of wearing orange if you step into a blind and vanish.

I guess it will take someone getting shot and or killed before that will happen frown.gif

excellent point on IT SHOULD BE REQUIRED like you said whats the point of all the blaze orange.. needless to say just like deer I TOO AM COLORBLIND but dont be alarmed i can see blaze orange as a matter of fact i can see all colors except when they do those eye tests FALANT TEST where they have a mixture of colors and you have to see a certain number ....oh well as long as deer dont evolve that much im good for my lifetime. I actually have a 100 dollar gift certificate for Cabelas but i have noticed that their stands are pretty expensive online compared to Gander mountains im looking for a Climb on Tree Stand I might just look around at garage sales and such and trade the certificate for a climber or something. I wonder if in store there are better deals. I might also consider getting a used Slug gun with scope from their used section or something since this year i might have to stay in the slug zone for a while
