write jackminer foundation bands

just shot my first banded mallard and it was a miner band, anyone else ever get one like this?

I have never shot one or even spoke to anyone that has personally shot one. I do know they are rare and some consider them a collector band. Congratulations on your first band, and it being a Miner band is just that much sweeter.

I could be wrong but I thought they stopped putting Jack Miner bands out years ago. Look on hsolist and see what those things are going for. You have a real prize on your hands.

I just read yesterday that Jack Miner's family and friends still carry on the tradition of banding birds at the santuary. It was in the most recent issue of Field and Stream I believe. What bible verse is on your band?

Specify duck or goose band

Date of recovery

Place of recovery (nearest town, lake, river?)

The 5 digit number on band (eg. 98205)

Thats the bible verse that is on the band I got! the mallard was banded just over 2 years ago! Yeah I did some searching of my own and found the HSOforum and email in the info on the band!
