New or used 15" rims and tires....

fishingguy

Question

Anyone have any idea where I can pick up a pair of used or new trailer rims and tires reasonable? 15" 5 hole 6ply (1600lbs). I have checked everywhere locally and they want way to much, $100 each or more. Anybody got any? Leads? Ideas? Appreciate any help!

Check into a Auto Salvage Yard! The bolt circle on an older Chrysler product wheel is the same as a trailer wheel(4.5") Ford and AMC will also work, as long as the center hole is large enough. Measure yours before you contact them.

I have done several searches on the net. They are a little cheaper, but with frieght they end up as much or more. I also thought about a salvage yard. I'll check into that a little more. Thanks for the tip!

Hey fishinguy, I see we're from the same town. I apologize for recomending OUR "gold plated salvage yards". Maybe elsewhere, but not here. Another idea may be to check with the 2 Northend tire shops. Are you lookin' for black steel or aluminum mags?

Phred52, I did check at all the auto parts and tire shops. All were over $100 each for tire and rim. I really don't care what type or color of wheel it is. As long as it fits a 5 hole trailer hub. I may try the auto salvage yard in Sleepy Eye if I can find the time to get over there. It is for a fish house I plan on building. If I have to I will get new, but I sure don't want to spend $200 if some one has a pair there not using. Thanks for the tip thou!
