Iceman12
I just bought a refurbished LX-3 for this season. Last night I was screwing around with it and turned it on. It seemed like it was clicking pretty loud from the transducer, at least more than what my Vexilar did. Is this normal? Was it maybe because I didn't have it in water? Deitz Dittrich
ICeman12- Yes its because you didn't have it in the water. I have also been told its really not great on any tranceducer to run them out of water very long.
Iceman12
Wow, thanks for the quick response. I thought it might be that. I only ran it for a couple seconds thankfully. Another questions. Where is a good place to pick up a new battery for a Marcum? Do they carry them at Gander and stores like that?
Matt Johnson
You can pick up a battery at just about any fishing store. They usually run about $20 for a 12 volt - 7 amp battery. Just ask someone there where you can find a battery for your flasher, they should be able to direct you right to it and all of the larger retail stores should have them in stock...Good Fishin,Matt Johnson
Ray Esboldt
Or, if you are near a store that specializes in batteries, try there. They frequently have a little better price than the big box sporting goods stores.
