Mopad
I'm wanting to buy a Tikka T3 hunter .30-06. Where is a good place to buy one? I live in central minnesota, Brainard, Detriot Lakes, Alexandria. Somewhere near would be great. Also how much should i expect to pay for this gun? Thanks
Rost
I would think you would have a Scheels or a Gander in your area. Or possibly make the trip down to the new Cabelas in Rogers. As for cost, I thought I saw them in Scheels for $569. Great gun! I own two T3's and love them
MikeYager - Suzuki
Check HSOforum and/or call Reeds in Nisswa. That's pretty close and they normally have excellent prices.
Mopad
Also what would be a good scope for this gun. I will only need a scope for shooting about 100 yds. Any suggestions? I don't want anything real expensive but i dont want and thats junk.
Gissert
Alexandria area? Give Dalton Outdoors a call. They usually have Tikkas in stock, or can get them in short order. We buy a lot of guns from them for our Rocky Mountain Elk Foundatin banquet, and they have taken great care of us.
snowman678
Have to second that vote, I won't buy guns anywhere else now.
New Yankee
IMO, the best value before you go German is the Leupold Vari X II - last I checked were around 3 bills. My wife has one on her .243 and it rivals my Khales. The Vari X III's run about twice that and I just don't see twice the value. I understand many will buy a $600 gun and put a $100 scope on it and be very happy, but I don't think you'll find anyone who'll say "I wish I didn't spend so much on my scope" five years from the date of purchase. Early morning and dusk you'll really notice the difference as well as their ability to hold zero - you'll save 20 bucks a year not re sighting
Rost
Good Point NY. A rifle is only as good as it's scope. I would say go with the Leupold or a Nikon. Both great scopes with lifetime warrenty's.
outdoorsman1972
If you are looking for a good scope at a good price go with the simmons pro-hunter. I have two of those scopes. One is on my 7mm and the other on my T-3 .270 WSM. The clarity and quality is excellent and not as expensive as a Leupold. I shoot 300 yds at the range consistently and have no problem.
