Holmquest slough

Any reports from the Holmquest slough? Its on the North side of Hwy 12 near Holmquest. We smacked them all fall last year and haven't heard much about it this year.

Just like anything else. I think it got fished too hard and got fished out. for the most part. I've been driving by it all summer right at dusk and haven't seen anyone fishing there.

That's kinda what I figured. Lots of limits and memories came from that little body of water, but I knew it wouldn't last long. It was fun while it lasted.

My guess is that it's fished way down, but still has potential to give up limits in the right conditions.

Dave, you need to get over there and give that a try some evening!

I might hit it this Sunday evening on the way back to Rochester for an hour or so.

Yea, happens way too often in NE. SD. Seems like every year some little pot hole ends up being the hot spot of the year for about 2 weeks or so. then you never hear anything good out of it again. So many of these sloughs and pot holes in NE. SD were used for rearing pond by the game and fish and kept a secret. Somehow the word either gets out or someone just tries fishing these bodies of water and finds fish.
