OK, didn't get to Thompson yesterday and feeling bad because the weather was awesome!!

Anyhow, going up to the Waubay area this weekend for a couple days of fishing. Heard Waubay has been good, but I've never been to Bitter and am tempted to try it. Any reports from the NE corner of South Dakota?

If this is your first rodeo at Bitter, be aware of sunken islands (sometimes rocky). There are several areas to ding a prop on the very north part of the lake as well as the southern portion. Watch your depth finders closely when traveling.

I don't have any reports to speak of, but wanted to give you a heads up about that.

Fished Waubay on Saturday and had a blast!! Caught at least 40 walleyes in 4 1/2 hours of targeting them. Nothing big, but kept 4 person limit of 15-16" eaters.

Then we went to a deeper hole and tried to catch some perch. Fished there for a couple of hours and ended up with 6 jumbo perch. Caught more walleyes then perch while we were bobber fishing.

Beautiful day to be on the lake.

That's a great report. I've heard fall walleye bite has started at Waubay. The perch action should keep picking up.

Thanks for the report. Its nice to see there are some 15-16" fish coming out. A few years ago, it was a solid 13.5-14" bite, but rarly got them 16 inchers.
