FYI, I work with a guy who had that van and had some trany damage while pulling a 1700 lund fishermen. He had a trany cooler put in that solved the problem. I also had a chevy s-10 zr2 with the 4.3 and pulled my lund 1800 explorer with it and begun to slip. I traded it in with 19,000 miles before I had any more problems. FYI

The 4.3 are great motors... the OD tranny's are iffy. You shouldnt have problems if you dont put it in OD.

An aftermarket tranny cooler would be wise if your planning on pushing it very hard for long distances, or very often.

That's a lot of fish house. I don;t know where you intend to put it but where I fish you don't always have a good road on the ice so I would worry more about getting stuck mad.gif than about overheating and transmission damage and that sort of thing.
