Fishing Junky
Any thoughts on the quality of these snowblowers? Going to upgrade from my Toro 5hp blower, just too small for my needs. Thanks for any help. Junky......
0 Wishin2BFishin
Not sure about the new ones but I have one that's at least 15 years old that still works great. I've owned it for most of those years and the only troubles have been the carburator needed to be cleaned out once and the original tires did not grip well. I found some tires with chains off and old John Deere blower and put them on and all was well. If your planning to buy a new blower you should look at the ones at Simplicity as they make great products. I have a 1970 Simplicity lawn tractor that still works great for me. Here's a link to their HSOforum. http://www.simplicitymfg.com/Best of luck
0 KidWalleye
I have an Ariens 624 and I like it. The only thing I'd do different is I'd buy the next size up. This is the one that doesn't have the light. I would like to have that. Also they said it would go all the way down to the driveway and it doesn't. Other than that all it does is run every time I use it. Just a side note, 4 of my buddies bought the exact same one. They all like it too. Good Luck, KID

0 Xplorer
Junky, I bought the 8.5 hp 2 stage model a couple years ago and really like it (824 model i think). I was up grading from a 6.0 hp Ariens that was close to 25 years old an still ran decent. I hope the current one runs as long....I would suggest running Seafoam in the tank all the time as the blower can sit for extended time even in winter and it will keep the carbs clean and gas stabilized. Mine really throws the snow well, in fact it looks like yours is really the same one with a slightly bigger engine (9.25 vs 8.50) as the frame and specs look the same. You do realize that by doing this you are dooming us to a winter with little snow and lots of cold, dontcha???? Good luck, i have also heard that the simplicity's are good too. 0 Fishing Junky
Xplorer, Thanks for the tip and info. I'll make up for the cold and no snow, with the nice weather we are going to get as soon as I put the boat away for winter. I'm going to go with the Ariens 926, as it sounds like a nice unit. Thanks for all the help guys.
