DuluthGuy
Hello All,I was wondering if anyone had the wind powered decoys and what one they would and wouldn't recommend?B2
outdoor ran
Butch, I'am old school and refuse to put a robo duck in the spread. So my buddy got a wind powered one to try. I will let you know how that works out. Will you be out this weekend hunting?
TV BOY
Winduck! they don't take much wind, and you can see them a mile away. Now they have printed images of mallard or pintail.Just keep the bearings lubed because they aren't sealed and will rust.I watched a hen mallard hover 3 feet over one in a field - that was sweet. Kodiak
I heard the winducks rule, i bought an air lucky on sale @ gander, it seems to spin easy in the wind so it should work out good. i hope!
TV BOY
Good luck with "lucky". That's what I had first, until the plastic wing broke. The wind ducks spin much easier than the tri-winged lucky. In my opinion.
Kodiak
TVBOY-did the lucky duck work for you when it was functional?
mwktrapper
These decoys have the SAME effect as a motorized spinning wing. They work great...when there's enough wind. Keep them lubed because they can get really loud if you don't.
TV BOY
Not as well, (It didn't survive the first day's hunt!)...Be carefull where you set it down so nobody sits on it When looking at the cabela's catalogue I lookes like they have changed the wing design a bit. Kodiak
that sucks i will be carefull with it. one thing i like about it is the full body, arent full bodies always better than silouettes?
paceman
I used an air lucky for a few years until the wind blew so hard that it blew off the stand and floated/sank before I could get to it. I had problems at the end with one wing spinning and the other would not spin as fast. I tried every lubricant I could find and it didn't make a difference. It looked goofy with the silly duck spinning in circles on the stand. Another thing I didn't like was all the parts you had to assemble in the dark/mornings. Yes a head light helped but it was kind of a cumbersome procedure assembling the feet, wings, poles......
Kodiak
why didnt you just keep the duck assembled and carry it in a decoy bag on the top. assuming your bag isn't plum full. it said on the box that they redesigned the wings on them, maybe that will help. I like the full body decoy though. so pace did you get winduk after that or what did you replace it with?
