New LX-2 info

I've heard that the LX-2 will have 1000 watts instead of 1500. Does it have the new color scheme? what's target separation. Is the auto zoom always on since it's auto?

The LX2 is designed similar to the Vexilar FL18 with a little more power.

Good Question - It is my understanding that the LX-2 will have the new color scheme. But I am also curious what the power difference means, I assume you will not get as good of seperation and sensitivity, but I am not sure.

I don't think that having less power will necessarily mean less target sep. The FL-18 has less target sep with only 400watts of power. The Marcums seem to lock onto the targets better and have less flickering and loss of signal.

I'm just curious if it is the same thing as the LX-3 only not having an adjustible zoom and the new color.

Question: Is the LX-2's separation still 2.65 and 1" on zoom?

You hit the nail on the head Aquafang. It's like the NEW LX3 with a bottom lock and colors similar to the FL18. Seperation is as good as the LX3. Power is stronger than the FL18. Also less expensive than the FL18.

As stated, Marcum's LX-2 is designed similar to the FL-18 but has some additional features and is about $80 less as well. Both the LX-2 and FL-18 use two individual colored LEDS and blend those two colors together to produce the 3rd color on the flasher. One big additional feature of the LX-2 is that the adjustable zoom can be set to the bottom 5-feet or bottom 10-feet with a push of a button. Also, the LX-2 comes in the soft pack right from the factory.

do the batterys go down on the marcums 2.5 times faster than the vex's since the marcums have 2.5 times the power?

A Vexilar draws 275ma of current, a Marcum draws 300ma. So, no, the battery will not drain 2.5 times faster running a Marcum. The battery drain is the same.
