IcePike....First off, no simple answer to this one, you might want to procure a regulations book from the Minnesota DNR, I'm sure that our fishing seasons and systems differ somewhat!

Next, mid to late Feb., you might find the walleyes a little hard to come by...they get tight lipped later in the season, plus, you don't want to be to late in Feb., wally season closes?

The crappies and sunfish start going pretty good during that time frame and the Mora, Aitkin, and Buffalo/Annandale

(All of Wright Co.)are as good an area as any, but the whole state is good for one thing, or another.

I don't suspect you want to be running from county to county

so you might want to do somemore searching and try to pin down what you want into one area.

The trout lakes that I fish, which are few, are all DNR stocked and after the first couple of weeks, the trouting gets pretty tough...you might want to check out the Duluth area forum for those hosers! Most of the trout fishing is done more in the northern 1/3 of the state, especially lakers. These fish have seasons also, so you might want to check that out first thing, because they open at different times.

Someone from that area might be able to put you onto all the species you are looking for and maybe even accompany you out fishing!

icepike, If you come to MN for trout you owe it to yourself to fish Northern Mn. Trout inside the BWCA opens sometime in early Jan and outside the BWCA in mid Jan. Northern Mn has some very good designated stream trout(rainbow, brook & splake) lakes as well as inland Lake trout lakes. The Gunflint Trail situated on the Canada/MN border is one of my favorite places in the state and offers both stream trout and lake trout fishing. Ely, Isabella, Finland areas have quite a few stream trout lakes but limited for lake trout. The trout bite is good for the majority of the winter season and eyes do slow down in some of the lakes in the dead of winter. If you visit the LOW forum the eye bite seems to keep on going.
