HaywardBound
Wondering how it works? I've got a '97 Cresliner Sportfish and I'm trying to keep some bait alive for a couple of days.Does it have to be in the water to work, or does it just pump air into the livewell/baitwell?Thanks. 0 Deitz Dittrich
It really depends on how you hook it up.. You can hook a timer up to your livewell pump, or you can put the timer on your recirculating pump. If its on the livewell pump then, yes, you would have to have the boat in the water. Many boats do not have a recirc pump.
0 HaywardBound
Thanks Deitz. It has its own switch, and I'm not sure what pump it is on. It cycles every few minuets. I bet is does have to be in the water & won't do any good to run it while in the garage.Thanks.
0 HaywardBound
Just to clear things up: (I know this is a silly question). Both Livewells have a large hose, and a small hose going into the livewell. I think the large hose is the fill, but I'm not sure what the smaller tube is. (areation)?I have two plates that say 'I.C.U. Air injection' near the livewells. (Can I run my livewell in the garage?)Thanks.
0 BLUESHARP
Correct me if I am wrong, but aren`t you supposed to empty livewells at access ramp? This prevents the spread of exotic species.
0 Deitz Dittrich
Blue- Yes.... however, if you bought bait from the bait store and put that water in your livewell, I dont htink you would be breaking any laws.As for the other question for the original poster.... A recirc pump would have a tube going from and to the livewell.
0 Satchmo
Hayward, the I.C.U. system on your Crestliner is indeed an air pump that runs seperate from your livewell pump. It is simply an air injection system, just like those used for an aquarium, and can be run at any time. You can run this in your garage to aerate the water, but I don't believe this system has a timer on it, so it will probably eat up quite a bit of juice if you run it overnight.
