Guest
I have a 97 yamaha 350 big Bear. I am having some problems with the carb on it, something is not seating right and I am filling up my crank case full of gas. Does anyone know of a good carb guy around the north metro that I could have look at this since I am not to handy with carbs
Moose-Hunter
Sounds like you have a stuck float needle. Or the float level is out of adjustment. It could be as simple as removing some crud from the float bowl. It's an easy fix if this is the case. Just drop the float bowl and you'll see where the floats act on the valve. I've had good luck with just shooting a bit of carb cleaner up and around the area of the needle. If it's just a bit of dirt in there, the carb cleaner will knock it loose and get rid of it. Just be careful not to bend or put any pressure on the floats themselves...
Eric Wettschreck
I have a 400 big bear and ran into the same problem you are describing. Moose hunters fix was the fix for me. Don't be afraid to drop the float bowl even if you arn't a carb guy, it's not that tough.Good luck.
