Question on a Tohatsu outboard

I am looking at buying a boat and it has a 1996 40hp Tohatsu outboard on it. Does anyone have any good/bad info on these motors.

Tohatsu's are Nissan's. Don't know if they ever had any "bad year classes," but Nissan makes a good motor that doesn't really get much attention.
