If Lohse gives you a lead of 3 or less runs after 6 innings you need to go to the bullpen for the 7th. Don't understand why last night they didn't bring in Crain for the 7th.

Oh well, maybe we'll get back on the right track again today with Radke.

I know... I was hoping the Twins would keep rolling just like the Indians of late to get this back to a competitive division race or make a serious wild card charge. BBTN discussed how truly inept the White Sox offense is already since the loss of Podsednek, "Tagahito's been struggling since he's not getting many fastball's to hit", "they have lost 7 straight and it could get much worse... Hawks been deafly quiet lately a sthis skid has been a struggle for him. I mean this guy loves the White Sox and the Cardinals, there his two favorite teams. But lately he hasn't been putting much on the board.

Palos finish up with Randy Johnson instead of a poundable Jared Wright then venture to a hot Minnesota ball club while the Indians hit the road to play the best team since the All-Star Break the surprising Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

My Cardinals will try to make it a 5-1 homestand and then embark on a 13 game road trip with stops in Pittsburgh "We love Pittsburgh on the Road" then were at wild card contending Washington, Florida and Houston...

The National League wild card is going down to the wire. In the National League I have noticed two things thus far... The Cardinals don't want to face the Phillies if they are the wild card team we have had trouble with them this year and the Braves don't want to face San Diego because the Padres have absolutely owned the Braves. Molina's squeeze bunt yesterday makes 11 of 13 squeeze opportunities successfully done.

LaRussa gave the big guns a rest day today before the 13 game road trip so todays game against the Giants is AAA day. Windy the sox are putting up some dingers against Johnson looks like Hawk will be putting a few on the board today and the streak will end... Alellluah

I notice you didn't mention my Cubbies in your list of WCard teams the Cards will be facing soon,Tim. Just when I was thinking a miracle could happen, their pitiful performance in CO means I totally agree with you. How can they beat the Cards 3 of 4 and lose to the Rockies? Rhetorical ? you know, as consistently suspect pitching combined with no clutch hitting = loss.

And what's this I hear? Grudz out 3 games and Rolen out 6 months? But you can still coast on in.

Geno,

I think that Tim and I can comfortably cruise into the playoffs (Tim, maybe a little more so, with only the Cubbies and Stros chasing them vs the Injuns and Twinks) but I think that he and I are both worried about the next 5 games. That first round is where he will really miss Rolen and I can only hope that my beloved awaken "Joe Boo". Bats cold...Bats need to be warm...Especially in October! Pitching will be fine but the sticks are another question. Whereas I think it is just the opposite for Tim. His bats are fine but the pitching is suspect (if anything is).

Sit back, relax and strap it down for the next 40 games!

YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD....YES! Windy

Eastern Sports Entertainment Network /ESPN/- Home of the Yankees and Red Sox..

John Kruk on BBTN said. "Oh since Grudz got hurt it's "Safe for pitchers to go right after Pujols in the Cardinals line-up" [PoorWordUsage] John they ain't throwing in the towel because Grudz will be out a few days and with the exception of Marquis there pitching has been real darn good.

We will have no Scott Rolen for the playoffs true. Will it hurt? Yes. Will it deter the Cardinals from making it to the World Series, No.... There pitching is better than last year and Abe Nunez has put up Rolen like numbers as far as avg. and hits, light on homeruns yes, I will give Kruk that but his defense has been (Contact US Regarding This Word) good. I don't see a dismal line up at all I see a darn good one myself. My projected post season line up.

Eckstein - ss

Walker - RF

Pujols - 1B

Floyd - LF (Will be a Cardinal very soon)

Grudzielanek - 2B

Edmonds - CF

Nunez - 3b

Molina - C

Sure Kruk go right after Pujols... We have Taguchi, Sanders, Mabry, Luna.. Your right Krucker, were not gonna even make it through the first round, were going to have all kinds of trouble since you said there's "no one in the lineup to protect Albert" so were just going to waive the white flag here. Your right any other team in our situation you'd probably be right but these are the cardinals and they emphasize the word "team" and when 4 starters go down you plug in guys who have had decent success and you just keep the team performing until the starters get back well... Super-subs became solid and Plug-ins Seabol, Mahoney, Luna and Reyes kept it a float ... In the 2 months Sanders and Rolen have been down it has come to me that Taguchi and Nunez could start for any ball club right now, there that good. Veteran's like Walker, Sanders, Mabry and Diaz add a comfort to the bench. This team may have some dings but it's still winning series and marching on.

Windy you can count on this and that's ESPN will not be backing the White Sox or the Cardinals they will be pulling for market share in NY and Boston.
