Tom Wilson
I emplore each and every one of you guys to make sure and take photos this year when you're out. It is the memories of our hunts that make them special. Take the time to give yourself something special to remember. I'm gonna start this post, but I hope that each of you will come up with something for this post by the end of this season. This is a pic of my very first field hunt ever. This was in S. Dakota, and you can't see it in this low quality jpeg, but in the top of the photo you can make out the tail of a tornado of ducks numbering somewhere around 8,000 birds. They gathered and circled for over an hour and still had not come down when this sunset finally took over. a cold morning--that's ice on the water, three days later the season was done. a beautiful sunrise during early goose last season--the day I blew up my 30 horse. One of the coldest days I have ever spent in the field (well except for the 41 minutes we spent in the middle of whaletail lake the second to the last day of duck season last year--also with this my good friend Ritchie) We owe our lives to the St Boni fire and rescue department, and I thank God everyday for taking care of us that day and giving us the opportunity to hunt not only more, but together as friends should. and finally, a pic for one of the many people and organizations that make our days afield special... Everyday afield should be great guys, please share some stories this year...
Guest
Great pics Tom. Here are a few iv'e taken over the years. My old hunting partner Thunder. He had no time for anyone in the duck boat. He was a great duck dog. He died a year ago last spring. You have a picture of the sunrise when you blew up your 30 horse. Here is a pic of the sunset on the day i blew up my 25 horse. I think its the best picture Iv'e taken and it wouldn't of happened if that old Merc hadn't of puked on us. A nice sunrise from last year.

FishingwithJake
Great pictures guys. Tom, have you taken any pictures of Wood Ducks? We shoot quite a bit of them where I hunt and I just think they are spectacular looking birds.

hobbydog
One from last years honey hole. About once every 10 years the river is high enough to back up into this spot. Breaking ice on one of the few cold mid Oct. mornings last year. A very cold day in 2002. The regular water was froze hard and despite a stong current, ice was forming in the river. We put out just a couple of dekes and the action was fast. I never saw so many GW teal in such a short period. At about the time the sun rose there were at least 200 teal sitting on the far bank trying to catch a few rays. We held off on the GW wating for big ducks and was rewarded with my one and only black duck. This is a pic of Bud as he spotted a flock of GW teal coming down the river. A front row seat to one of the greatest shows on earth.
