vern
Buck Perry 1915-2005. Quote:Elwood Lake(Buck)Perry, 90, owner and retired President of Bucks Baits of Hickory, died at his residence in Taylorsville, NC, August 12, 2005 after a period of declining health. Buck was the inventor of the Spoonplug and was known by many as the father of modern day structure fishing. I remember reading his books when I was a kid. I've never tried Spoonplugging but I just found out that they still make them. Maybe I'll try some Spoonplugging in memory of Buck. - Vern
Eastwind
My father-in-law taught me how to Spoonplug twenty years ago. I have saved many a fishing weekend with Spoonplugs over the years. The last I knew, you could still buy Spoonplugs through the mail from Buck's Baits in Hickory, N.C. Too bad to see Buck go. He taught many people a lot about how fish relate to structure. Or as Buck used to say " 90% of the fish use only 10% of the lake".
