SD Duck Opener- Sept. 24

I just got off the phone with the GFP. It looks like we'll be swatting mosqitoes on opening day again.

Unless I am mistaken, it seems to me that years ago we always had the duck opener around the first week in October. Does anyone know why they changed this?

It just does not seem right to be hunting ducks in September

I hope you are wrong. I hope it is Oct.1. I have a wedding to go to on the 24th.

I know MN isn't going to start till oct.1 first because duck numbers are down.

You are correct on the 24th being the opener. Way to early!!!!!!!! They should almost wait unitil the second week of Oct.

Just a little foot note, Minnesotas opener is the 1st of October from now or at least until the congress men and women change it.

It is set by law to be no earlier than the 1st, law was passed this year for this.

Thanks for the heads up on S.D opener, now we can set up our lodging.
