0 upnorth
Try rod-building.org there is a lot of info available, and a pile of links for vendors to left side. Lots of question and answer type of stuff. There is also a small shop in Marine, MN called Wild River Distributing that carries all sorts of stuff, you can call and get a catalog, his prices are real good.Good luck it is a fun and rewarding hobby. 0 Guest
Corey-If this is your first try at building rods, I'd suggest going through Thorne Bros. You can buy a blank from them, get all the needed supplies, and use their shop to build your rod (for a small extra fee). The plus is having a pro there helping you along the way, you learn a TON. Also, you can then determine if it's something you really want to start doing as a hobby without a big investment in the rod wrapper/dryer, threads, etc.-------------------FNC"get on the natch"
0 Surface Tension
I'd recommend a shop that has all the components and staff that can help you to get started as well. They usually have pamphlets from component manufactures with How-Tos such as guide placement formulas, wraps and so on.
