Lake Holcombe Help

Recommended Posts

Anyone have anything to say about Lake Holcombe/Holcombe Flowage in Wisconsin for Muskie fishing??? or walleyes?

I've read that it shuts down in the summer, is this true?

I'm looking at Cabins on the lake cuz its real close to our deer hunting property south of Ladysmith.

Thanks

holcombe is a good muskie lake, not a numbers one but there are some nice fish in it. it is an early morning and night bite during the dog days of summer. the walleye are in there as well. I have spent a lot of time on that lake, and really like it. plus, there are a lot of other lakes in the area to fish also, dairyland flowage is a couple of minutes away and has a great muskie pop or make a short drive to the flambue (spelling?) river for smallies. make sure to check out the bar at big swedes resort on holcombe, hope this helps-

Walleyepro

Check out the Pine Drive Resort on the west side of the lake. Drive through Holcombe on M and after you go past the lake take the first tar road to the right and just a quarter mile or so up is the bar-supper club. Best eatin around.
