Hoytmystic
I have a chance to buy candy hearts for bait. I was wondering if anyone else has used this before. ThanksKyle
Walterwontfalter
A friend and I once put out a huge pile of oats and molases and mixed in 100 pounds of gummy bears. He's got some great video footage of two different bears laying by the pile and picking out the gummy bears one by one with a claw. They ate the candy first and when that was all gone they ate the oats/molases.
Neiko
I used some the last 2 years. The bears love them but so do the bees and wasp. First year it made it so bad I couldn't replenish one site. The next year I saved it for later in the season and not as much.
Buzicky69
After using every bait known to man last bear season. I would not use those candy hearts at all unless you are getting them for free and you dont have any other baits to offer. One they dont smell strong and two I had my barrel turn into a wasp nest to the point where I couldnt put bait in it with out getting stung. I had a bear hitting almost every day and he would gladly refuse those hearts over any other bait I had put out. Personally it's hard to go wrong with oats covered in grease, jelly, molasses, or chocolate. Plus oats are cheap.
