Fall fly fishing on the Brule

Recommended Posts

I've never fished the Brule, but would like to try some fly fishing there this coming Fall. Could someone tell me when and where I might go to catch some salmon? Seems I heard once there is a peak season when they make their spawning runs. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I dont fish the Brule that much, but there are a few people in this forum who fish it quite a bit. So hopefully they will chime in and give you a hand.

Around my area, here in Bayfield, we have Pikes Creek. It gets a fall run of Kings, usually starting the end of August and into September. Small stream, with some decent size fish. As the time gets nearer, I will give you up to date info on how the fish are doing in my neck of the woods.

I fished the brule for the first time last fall; awesome river! Definitly put it on the top of your list for places to fish. I believe the Steelies start movin in around late Sept. through October;and coho's run around late August through Sept; correct me if I'm wrong. I've fished in numerous spots North of Hwy 2 and the city of Brule. Go to this link Brule river sportsmens club, it should answer many of your questions.
