These need there own thread as well, right?!

I was back in Murphy hanrehan park taking some pictures and I heard a chirp chirp and turned and took a few steps towards the noise and saw a mother Bluebird on a sign checking me out, then I saw a baby bluebird on a stone, it quickly hopped into the tall grass but I was fortunate enough to still get a few good pictures. The mother watched me intently so I got out of dodge fairly quickly. I've never been so close to a baby Bluebird, I think it may have been as curious as I was. I really like these pictures! wink.gif2005_0629_183514AA (33).JPG

Need their own thread? Absotively! Nice pics and they are some really kewl little birds. Enjoy having them in the pasture and around the yard here. Have had some inquiries about a pattern for predator guards to retrofit bluebird houses to keep the cats, coons, possums, etc., out of them. Here's a HSOforum that has some patterns:

There's a pair nesting on a fencepost birdhouse at our family cabin north of Bemidji, too. It's solid forest in the area but for a small pasture cut out of the woods for a guy who used to keep horses. Of course, there's a lot of open hayland around Bemidji, so there's a good overall mix of woods and fields. The house is on a corner post right next to the dirt road everyone uses to get to their cabins. There have been houses there for more than 10 years, but this is the first time there have been nesters. Nice to see it. grin.gif
