94 Mariner 15hp....

Not a recoil issues that I thought early

When starting the motor makes a whirling noise and when running is sounds very ticky almost like lifter noise on a chevy motor but louder and seems to be coming from the back of the motor or the lower unit ???

Any one got any ideas or had the same problem ?

Theres a drive shaft bearing under the water pump that could be going.

Good time to replace the impeller and seal while your looking.

Thanks I will take a look when I get home ... Any way to isolate the noise ... It is so hard to tell where it is coming from
