Rod holder/storage

JJB

Question

I fish out of a 16 foot lund rebel and they do not have much for storage. I usually have 6-8 rods with and would like to find a holder that stands vertical while I am running the boat to clear up some floor space. I just worry about using the storage area they have in the boat or laying them on the floor because I usually have a dog running around in the boat. Is there any durable products out there that may do the job?? I was going to build something but it would be nice to see a few for some ideas.

Thanks

I use the Cabela's Quick Stow rod rack. It fits in the pedestal base on my Lund Tyee and holds 8 rods. When I'm done at night, I just carry the whole thing to the cabin or lodge.

I've been using it for 4 years and wouldn't be without it.

Here is the info from the Cabela's web site.

Cabela's Quick Stow Rod Rack Item: IF-013819

Price: $44.99 - $69.99

I've pounded the waves on Mille Lacs with no problems. I do make sure to keep the holder in a base towards the back of the boat (less bouncing closer to the motor). I don't keep mine on the back casting platform, but make sure it's on the main floor. It works great and doesn't bounce at all.
