Eagle 320 problem

Huskie

Question

I bought this 320 last year and have not been real happy with it. The screen has a vertical line on the right hand side about an inch+ from the side of the unit. That part of the screen does not show an image. Is there an adjustment I can make with this or do I need to send it in? If I send it in, any recommendations? Thanks.

How you do you setup the 320 to bring up the arches as seen on the picture above? I have gone over the manual and fiddled with the controls using various settings and still can't get the arches to come up more distinctly. Thanks.

Try turning you Ping Speed down and that area to the right of the vertical line should shrink. And even though it doesn't show you an image in that area, the horizontal lines in there are your first look at what the unit is reading - you should see the bottom signal and see it moving up or down as the depth changes, and should see horizontal lines flash when it marks fish. bait, weeds, etc.

Seems I've read somewhere that the most important thing to getting good arches is the installation/adjustment of the transducer, not the display unit.

Also, I believe fish won't show as arches unless you (or them?) are moving.

Perhaps you could try to reset the unit. I think there is a selection in one of the menus that restores all settings to default.

Wish I'd have taken an movie clip of the fish arches we saw on Rainy Lake two weeks ago. I'd never seen fish stacked like that!!

I've tried resetting the unit to the default settings and just making the neccessary adjustments as suggested in the manual but the arches are still not well defined. I'll try to reposition the tranducer. Thanks.
