been pretty slow around here lately, lets see if I can get some talk going to get me through this last hour of work for the day/week

heres the link: power rankings

couple of surprises, nationals at #2, over the cards? and not surprising twins fall back to #10.

although to me these rankings mean nothing, it might give us something to talk about...

I think the Nationals recent 10 game winning streak played into the rankings a bit. Usually these things don't necessarily look at the whole season, but recent trends. That's about the only reason I can think of.

Personally I think #10 for the Twins is a bit high. I'd probably drop them back a few more, because of their recent perfomance.

Indeed, very quiet in here today. I wonder if it has anything to do with a Twins win over the Tigers and an idle Sox squad yesterday? Or a certain regular is terrorizing a Chicago Cubs board right now.

Anyway, interesting ranking indeed. I find it surprising that the O's are ranked as high as they are. I'm going to be very surprised if that team makes the playoffs.

The power rankings are pretty worthless although they do generate discussion. Washington at 2 is interesting since theye are sub par on road games and almost unbeatable at home. I am happy for the Nats... No offense but Montreal is not a baseball town (I know I have been there) and with the fan support this team is getting at home the team has responded with the best home record in baseball.

My Cardinals had there 2nd, 3 game skid this season. I'm not alarmed and agree there is a lot of baseball to be played yet. It was very refreshing to see Suppan get the win and give the Card's bullpen a break especially since they have had to pitch extensivly because of Marquis, Mulder, and Morris's last horrible starts.

In that heat last night Suppan was fantastic and Taguchi 2, Edmonds 2 and Molina all went deep. Rolen is slowly getting back into form and the cubbies have run into a buzz saw in the White Sox.
