Hodag???

Anyone have a Salmo Hodag? I'd like to know about it's action- is it a very shallow diving crankbait or is it more like a Hog Wabbler?

It's a wabbler. It really looks good. I got one late last season, and didn't use it all that much. The water had cooled off quite a bit by then. But, I'm looking forward to being able to use it a little more this season as the water begins to warm.

Weird looking thing. But different, and that's what I'm banking on.

Plus, they glow in the dark. I don't know if that's good or bad, but they glow.

Does it have the "clack clack clack" of a hog wabbler? Does it make any sound at all? Do I need to get one?

Well, There's no clacking, but lots of sound. It's more like the sound a jitterbug makes, and it has a little prop on the back hook, and that puts out a pretty good buzzing noise.

It's interesting. Nothing else like one.

Sbould you get one?

I haven't had a fish next to one yet, but I feel like I will soon(like this weekend). Also, they're like $30, not cheap. But, I'd get one.

For as much as they cost, I would pass on it. There are better lures out there. It's nice to show off in your box, but you'd grab another lure before you use the hodag.
